Business Relationship Manager
About the Role:
This position is based in Kokopo, and reports to the Business Development Manager. The purpose of the role is to drive sales performance and lead a dynamic network of Insurance Advisors. This role is critical to delivering sustainable business growth, strengthening
client relationships, and ensuring the ongoing quality and persistency of the insurance portfolio.
Key Deliverables:
- Sales Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead and manage the Insurance Advisor network to achieve sales targets.
- Monitor performance and provide regular reporting on sales outcomes, trends, and gaps.
Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement - Identify and secure new business opportunities across private and government sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate clients and payroll partners.
Business Growth & Portfolio Management - Deliver new business targets while maintaining strong retention and conservation of existing policies.
- Implement initiatives to improve policy persistency and overall portfolio quality.
Advisor Development & Coaching - Provide ongoing coaching and support to Insurance Advisors across all stages of the sales process.
- Promote a needs-based selling approach to enhance client outcomes and business sustainability.
Sales Activity Oversight - Monitor individual advisor performance and implement targeted development plans.
- Deliver on-the-job training to improve productivity and capability.
Operational & Financial Management - Oversee daily operations of the sales unit within approved budgets.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and cost-effective delivery of activities.
- Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of conduct, documentation, and reporting.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills & Experience:
- .Tertiary qualification in Business related field is preferred with at least 3 years of Sales Management experience, preferably in the Insurance industry.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated experience in driving sales growth and managing client portfolios.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical capability with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- High level of organization, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure.
- Sound understanding of compliance, regulatory requirements, and governance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems (e.g. BLIS).
