This position is based in Port Moresby, and reports to the Finance Manager of BSP Life PNG Limited. The incumbent will support the Finance Manager in various financial reporting activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, compliance reporting to the Bank of PNG and other Statutory organizations and development of relevant policies and procedural documents.

• Processing month-end accounts and preparing management reports.
• Completing monthly general ledger reconciliations.
• Preparing quarterly and annual returns for the Bank of Papua New Guinea.
• Managing the Fixed Assets Register.
• Overseeing the reinsurance payment process.
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
• Preparing and lodging tax returns.
• Preparing half-year and annual financial statements and coordinating with External Auditors.
• Developing policies and procedures.
• Managing the chart of accounts and SunSystems Accounting system.
• Managing payments for BSP Life PNG through Group Finance or Internet Banking.
• Oversee the preparation of Insurance Advisors payroll.
• Any other tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

• University Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business Management.
• Full Member of CPA or working towards attaining CPA qualification. Certificate in Life Insurance is desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Accounting, preferably in a Life Insurance Business.
• Sound knowledge of industry and legislative/compliance requirements.
• Sound knowledge of Accounting Standards.
• Target oriented with ability to perform well under deadlines and high-pressure situations.
