About the Role

The position is based in Port Moresby and reports to the Country Manager of BSP Life PNG Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing BSP Life’s marketing and communications by developing and executing effective marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, build a positive brand image, oversee content creation, lead digital marketing, and manage all external communications. The Officer ensures regulatory compliance, fosters stakeholder relationships, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support business growth.

Key Deliverables

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans that align with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • Create and execute campaigns to drive brand awareness, attract new customers, and retain existing ones.
  • Analyze market trends and customer insights to refine marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Maintain the company’s brand image with consistent messaging and visual identity, and enforce brand guidelines for internal and external communications.
  • Create compelling content for various platforms, including social media, websites, newsletters, and marketing materials.
  • Manage content calendars to ensure timely and relevant content distribution. Collaborate with design and production teams to develop creative assets that support marketing initiatives.
  • Execute and optimize digital marketing campaigns (SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media), monitor performance, and enhance social media engagement.
  • Manage all external communications, build media relationships, and organize public events, press conferences and speaking engagements to promote the company’s brand and its initiatives.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring consistent messaging aligned with the company’s mission.
  • Track and analyze the performance of marketing initiatives, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies and improve return on investment (ROI).
  • Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to inform marketing tactics and positioning.
  • Develop   and   oversee   the   marketing   budget,   ensuring   effective   resource allocation and providing performance updates.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards in all marketing activities, collaborating with legal and compliance teams for approvals.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Any other tasks as delegated by the Country Manager.

Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:

  •  Tertiary Qualification in Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in the financial services or insurance industry.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., SEO, SEM, social media management, email marketing).
  • Strong content creation skills, including writing, editing, and design coordination and knowledge of brand management principles and practices.
  • Analytical skills for marketing analytics and reporting.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive business growth.
  • Proven ability to manage external communications and public relations.  Team player and leader.
  • Self-reliant, highly motivated and resilient.
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver on deadlines.
