Group Relations Officer

This position is based in Port Moresby, and reports to the Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering all processes within the Premium Management Department in accordance with BSP Life standards.

Key Deliverables:

  • Responsible for Suspense Account Management ensuring all unidentified payments and premiums are cleared within 15 days.
  • Ensure that Bank Standing Orders relating to policy/ group are sent to the intermediaries remitting premiums to BSP Life PNG in a timely manner with a followup process in place to see that they are actioned.
  • Provide accurate and timely response to queries and complaints from customers and management concerning Bank Standing Order Management or Group Arrears Management.
  • Administer premium posting within 48 hours for Anticipated Endowment and Group Term Life covers by accurately receipting, matching and allocating funds to relevant groups or policies.
  • Facilitating financial adjustments on policies relating to write offs, premium journals, etc., within 24 hours after proper authorization from authorized personnel.
  • Administer premium refunds within 48 hours of verifying payments, liaising with clients/intermediaries and obtaining proper client identification.
  • Set up new Anticipated Endowment groups according to business rules within 24 hours after obtaining all necessary information required.
  • Process group maintenance changes related to group types, billing frequencies and details within 24 hours of receipt of instructions from authorized group personnel ensuring that accurate details are entered into the system according to business rules.
  • Prepare and compile Premium Management month end and weekly reporting.
  • Responsible for Policy Receipt management, with an effective follow up process ensuring all receipts are received in a timely manner and registered.
  • Maintain Bank Statement register in line with BSP Life Processes.
  • Assist with both internal and external teams and ensure compliance with all relevant BSP Life Policies.
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks assigned by Operations Manager.

Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite in particular MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent Time Management skills.
  • Ability to interpret Financial Data.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Excellent Writing & Communication skills.
  • 3 years in a similar role.
